2XXX Series
Aluminium 2024 is a high-strength, heat-treatable 2XXX series alloy alloyed with copper and magnesium. It is used above all in aerospace structures and in precision engineering components where fatigue loading matters. Its corrosion resistance is limited, so cladding or surface protection should be considered.
