5XXX Series
Aluminium 5083 is a strong, non-heat-treatable 5XXX series alloy with a high magnesium content. Its high resistance to seawater and industrial chemicals, the strength it retains after welding and its reliability at low temperatures make it suitable for shipbuilding, offshore, cryogenic tank and heavy transport applications.
