Aluminium 6061 General Properties

Aluminium 6061 is a heat-treatable 6XXX series alloy based on magnesium and silicon, with copper and chromium additions giving it balanced structural strength. It combines good corrosion resistance, weldability and machining behaviour with a high strength-to-weight ratio. It is therefore widely used in machine frames, automotive parts, rail system structures, marine structures, bicycle frames and precision-machined hydraulic components.
